Personally, I am using a strong password for my WiFi, which I recommend to you also. However, it is good practice to use a strong and complicated password but the problem is that often it is not easy to remember it.

But thankfully Windows 11 allows you to see your saved WiFi network password when it is needed and you do not need to reset it. Note: If you are using Windows 10 operating system then you can also follow these steps because all steps are the same for both.

3. Find All Saved WiFi Password Using Command Prompt Or Windows Powershell

Previously, you could only see the current password of the Wifi network you are connected to. But, what if you want to see the previously connected or disconnected Wifi network password?

Well, you can do that by using a “Command Prompt” or “Windows Powershell” to find the currently connected as well as previously connected wifi network password. But you will not get the password of that WiFi network if you have used the “Forget” button on your laptop.

Here is how you can do that.

Note: All the steps are the same for both Command Prompt and Windows Powershell.

Step 1: Firstly, you need to type the “CMD or Command Prompt” on the Windows Start button search and then press enter to open.

Or

If you want to use “Windows Powershell” then right-click on the start button and click on that.

Step 2: Next, type the following command on Command Prompt or Windows Powershell and press Enter button to get a list of all the saved Wifi network profiles on your laptop.

netsh wlan show profiles

netsh wlan show profiles

Step 3: Here, you need to run another command to get the WiFi password of that particular Wi-Fi SSID.

netsh wlan show profile name=“Wi-Fi NAME” key=clear

In the above-given command, you have to replace “Wi-Fi Name” with WiFi SSID to see the saved password.

Let’s take an example, in our case, the WiFi name is “One Plus 7” so we will replace it with “Wi-Fi Name” that you can see in the below command.

netsh wlan show profile name="OnePlus 7" key=clear

4. Find The WiFi Password By Using A Third Party App

If you don’t want to do this technical thing to see the WiFi password then simply you can use a third-party app called “WirelessKeyView“. Actually, there are many apps available but this is one of the most popular apps.

On top of that, this is a free app which you can use to find your WiFi network password with just a single click. You just need to download and install the app to see the list of Wifi network user profiles and passwords. Also, this app allows you to export all the Wifi network passwords in a text file and for that, you have to click on File and then choose the Export all items option.

Final Verdict

These are the four methods which you can use to find your WiFi password easily. So it depends upon you which method is suitable for you from Setting, Control Panel, Command Prompt / Windows Powershell, and Third-party app, and then try it out.

However, often we all forget the passwords, so, use a password manager or save the password on a text file or Word document file.
